    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Procurement Specialist required for 18 month contract with Medical Devices company

    Our client is an industry leader in the Healthcare sector. Employing in excess of 1,000 people in Cork, this US Multinational is recognised as an "Employer of Choice" in Ireland.


    Job Description
    Due to ongoing expansion, a contract opportunity for 18 months has become available for a Procurement Specialist. This person will perform Supplier Management activities, including the sourcing of production and non-production materials such that the company and its suppliers develop compliant continuous competitive advantages.

    Roles/Responsibilities

    Fostering a culture of compliance by operating within guidelines and procedures and focusing on risk assessment and elimination
    Aligning Suppliers strategies with Plant & Corporate objectives and targets.
    Assessing Risk in Supply Base and leading mitigation actions.
    Driving down cost with Suppliers through RFQ process.
    Negotiating competitive cost with suppliers.
    Develop and execute measurement tools to accurately gauge supplier performance (quality, delivery, etc.) and communicate results internally and externally as necessary
    Drive performance on key performance parameters including PPV and VIP.
    Perform other tasks as needed in support to achieving the highest level of compliance, customer satisfaction at an optimum cost.



    Skills/Experience

    Minimum of 2 years relevant experience and ideally 4/5 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent with direct experience in Procurement.
    Experience Dealing with Third Party Vendors on commercial activities.
    Ability to effectively present projects, status, etc.
    Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage

    Education / Professional Qualifications

    Intending candidates MUST hold a primary degree qualification, preferable in Business Studies, Finance, or Science.
    Additional qualifications such as IIPMM or APICS will work to the advantage of applicants.
